The Havana Chamber of Commerce annually presents its Citizen of the Year and Teacher of the Year awards to individuals recognized for outstanding service and achievements within the Community of Havana and to our students, present or past. Letters of nomination should be sent to the Havana Area Chamber of Commerce at P.O.Box 116, Havana, IL 62644 and should describe why the person deserves the honor. | Event | Description | | Havana's Eagle Day Festival | Gather along Havana’s beautiful Riverfront Park and point your binoculars skyward, as early morning mists part to reveal majestic birds perched above the river, searching the water’s surface for any sign of fish.
Visit our Eagle Days Festival the first Saturday in on February 6. Go to Dickson Mounds and enjoy a Raptor show and backyard birding activities. | | Havana Super Saturday | Come to New Central Elementary in Havana from 9am-1pm on the second Saturday in February to learn about community services Havana has to offer familes and children. Youth can enjoy several activities in the school gym, including a "bungee run". Admission is free. |

| Event | Description | | Havana All-Town Garage and Sidewalk Sale | The Havana All-Town Sidewalk and Garage Sale and Antique, Arts and Crafts Fair, sponsored by the Havana Chamber of Commerce, is typically held the last Saturday in May. However, 2011's sale will be June 4th to avoid Memorial Day Weekend. Sales will be held at participating residences and downtown. Downtown merchants will be holding special sales during this event. This event is held rain or shine. Maps showing sale locatns will be passed out in front of the Lawford Theater starting at 7 am. | | Spring Carnival | Havana's Spring Carnival, sponsored by the Havana Fire Department, is held the third weekend in May. The carnival features various amusements and food. This event is a major fundraiser for the Havana Fire Department. |
| Event | Description | | Havana Park District Brown Bag It Series | Entertainers perform every Friday in June from 11:30am-1:00pm at the Riverfront Stage at Havana's Riverfront Park.
Entertainment will return in September at the Riverfront Park Stage.
All brown bag it events are free to the public.

The Chamber of Commerce Trolley will be transporting flower lovers to 5 different gardens in Havana.
Tickets are $12.00 and can be purchased at the Havana Nature Center. Day of the event. Programs will be available at the Nature Center.
Price of ticket includes all 5 gardens, trolley ride to the gardens and refreshments at the end of the tour. |
| Event | Description | | Havana Fourth of July Celebration | The Havana Fourth of July Celebration, hosted by the Havana Chamber of Commerce, is comprised of several events including a parade and a fireworks display! The 2011 parade will be held on Monday July 4th at 10:00AM, Downtown Havana. Fireworks will be held later that night beginning at dusk. Following the parade is the Little Miss Sparkler and Little Mister Firecracker Pageant. The Havana Fire Department water fight will also take place after the parade.
The fireworks will begin at dusk at the Havana High School football field, located at the corner of McKinley Avenue and Highway 97. This event is free to the public. Seating for the fireworks is available in the bleachers or on the practice field. | | World's Largest Fish Fry | July 16th and 17th come to Bath Illinois Free Fish Fry.

| Event | Description | | 9th Annual Riverfront Car Show and Cruise | Cruise-in at McDonalds / Car Show at Riverfront Park, Havana, IL 62644
The 9th Annual Riverfront Car Show and Cruise-In will be held August 12th and 13th, 2011. Festivities begin Friday night, August 12th, with a Cruise-In at McDonalds in Havana beginning at 6:00 p.m. sponsored by the Coachman Car Club and McDonalds. A DJ will provide music and the Golden Arch Trophy will be awarded in addition to a $50.00 cash prize. Questions regarding the Cruise-In can be answered by calling Monte Graham at (309) 759-4850. The Car Show will be held August 13th at Riverfront Park in Havana. Saturdays activities will include an Antique Tractor Show and Antique Tractor Pull. Registration for the Car Show will be from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. Pre-registrations are accepted at a cost of $15.00 which includes a free commemorative T-shirt and dash plaque to the first 100 entries. Registration the day of the show is $20.00. Food vendors will be available along with music provided by a DJ. | Event | Description | | Polka Pace Race | The Polka Pace Race is a 5K run through the
streets of Havana, including a jaunt through our
scenic Riverfront Park and down our historic
brick streets. The race is part of the annual
Oktoberfest Celebration and is held the first
Saturday after Labor Day, at 8 am. To download a race form, click the link below. | | Oktoberfest | Oktoberfest, sponsored by the Havana Chamber of Commerce, is held the Friday and Saturday after Labor Day. September 9, 10 & 11. 2011. Activities include German bands, arts and crafts, a parade, and of course, bratwurst, sauerkraut, beer, wine, and other foods.
Join us also for the 5K Polka Pace Race at 8 am Saturday morning for a nice run down our brick streets and along our Riverfront Park. New this year is the 1K Polka Dot race for kids 10 and under.

| Event | Description | | Havana Wine Festival | Four area wineries will be the guests of the Havana Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, October 9th for Havana’s 3rd Wine Tasting event.
It will be held at the Gasline Lounge Sidewalk Cafe on Main Street from 1 pm to 7 pm. There will be food & music!
The afternoon event will feature live music by Havana local Sean Ketcham Live & Robert Simpson.
There will be a $10 entrance fee which will provide each visitor with a wine glass and six tickets that will entitle them to free tastes of wine from the participating wineries. Visitors may also purchase a ticket to allow them to vote on their favorite recipe in the Cook Off event.

| Event | Description | | Havana's Annual Christmas Parade | Havana's Annual Christmas parade will be held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, beginning at 5:30 PM in downtown Havana. Children can meet with Santa at the Santa House on the Main Street side of the courthouse square.
This years Parade will break tradition and will be a night Parade! Spectators and Participants alike are encouraged to adorn any and every part of their person or costume with Bells! We want to hear those bells ringing in the night!
Sign up sheets for parade participants are available at Bleem Family Chiropractic, Grandpa's and The Mason County Democrat.
Parade line up will be at 4:30 at New Central School. Prizes will be awarded to the participants who best express this theme. Five different categories will be judged.

The Mason County Courtyard of Lights ceremony will begin at 7:00pm the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The Muddy River Brass Band will be on hand at 6:30pm to play traditional Christmas music and the program will include a sing-along. The holiday display includes a Christmas Tree Lane, comprised of trees donated by local organizations as well as the Remembrance Tree, where individuals have the opportunity to honor loved ones by placing ornaments on the tree. |
